Can fighting techniques be used in self defense?

Ah, the age old problem. Millions of people train year round to learn . Fighting techniques such as boxing and MMA are created to be used in competition sport. But can these techniques actually be used as proper techniques as well? Let’s see what we can find out when we look at that exact question.

First off, let’s identify some common . The first technique is the common jab. The cross punch usually follows the jab, so now we have two staple techniques. Another common technique used in fighting is the round house kick. You can temporarily cripple your opponent when you use these devastating kicks properly. These are some of the staple we will be talking about.

We’re going to first talk about the jab. Are jabs very useful in or are they only useful as ? Well, the truth is they are not very useful at all in situations. You see, jabs are not used as a full out blow but instead as a quick strike in competition sport. In real life, situations are over in a few quick seconds, so a jab will not be very useful.

Next we have the cross punch. Cross punches can be extremely useful , or they can be used as self-defense techniques. The cross punch can take out an attacker very easily because it is a very powerful strike. One or two cross punches can put down even the strongest man if placed properly. You should practice doing cross punches because it can be used as either.

Finally, how about a roundhouse kick? Are roundhouse kicks strictly for fighting or is there a way they can be used as proper techniques? Some say yes, others say no. Roundhouse kicks to the head can be very dangerous and can potentially put you in a very bad situation. However, an instant fight winner can come in the form of a roundhouse kick to the groin. Just make sure you don’t kick above the belt and you’ll be good to go.

So there you go. As you can tell, just about all techniques can be used as fighting techniques but it’s not always the case vice versa.
