Tips On How To Live Significantly More Healthy
If you have not already, now is the time to quit smoking and cutback on the drinking. If you want to live a healthier life those two destructive behaviors must end and you are going to have to adopt a more active lifestyle. Odds are you are going to have to lose some weight as well.
Statistics show that despite all the health warnings, 20% of all Americans are still smoking. The number one thing that people can do to become healthier is to stop. Smoking damages the heart and lungs and will cut your life short and will damage the quality of your life. The Food and Drug Administration is looking for new ways to convince smokers to quit and new graphic warning labels will be slapped onto cigarette packages beginning in 2012. These labels will actually include photographs of diseased lungs and cases of cancer of the mouth.
The consumption of alcohol is another activity that needs to be curtailed in America. While studies have shown that one or two drinks a day can actually be beneficial, any more than that can damage your liver and could cause a stroke. Alcohol abuse has been shown to cut life short and will raise the chances that you will be involved in an accident. Drunk driving remains one of the leading causes of death among young people in America.
Once you cut out some of the more destructive behaviors, the key to getting healthier is adding in other activities. Anything that gets you up and moving around is good. Government researchers say physical activity will prolong your life because it reduces the rick of heart trouble and diabetes. Exercise will also help you combat weight gain and strengthens your heart and the other muscles in the body.
The government has published a physical activity guide which helps people determine how much exercise they need to become healthier. It recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week for optimum results. The report highlights that there are a multitude of methods to achieve the physical exercise targets. It recommends walking and biking but also says that gardening and dancing also qualify as activities that will help you meet the requirements.
Another way to live a healthier life is to get an adequate amount of sleep through the night. Studies show that people who sleep less than five hours a night will not live as long as those who get between six and a half and seven years of sleep. The research done by the University of San Diego School of Medicine also found that too much sleep is not good for your health. The study was not able to identify why sleep habits affect longevity but they were able to establish the link by trying to find the people who participated in a sleep survey years later. People who revealed that they slept approximately six and a half hours each evening were those who ended up existing the longest.

Reduce Your Stress and Learn To Be Happy
Taking too much of anything is negative for the health. In small amounts stress is actually good for us, as it could serve to help you function at your best. However, stress that burdens a little too much could take a physical, as well as mental, toll to your well being. Stress should be managed in order for depression or anxiety to be prevented.
You may be asking yourself how should I do this then? Follow these helpful tips and advice to help prevent and manage stress.
Write it out, schedule it out, and above everything else, try to relax.
It is wise to write down all the things that seems to be overwhelming. You will find an organized-to-do-list much easier to manage than having errands all crumpled up in your head. Writing down your ideas, and putting a specific schedule and time to do them, helps you to manage activities one piece at a time. Crossing out a duty that has already been accomplished is very rewarding and could actually help you feel more relaxed when busy doing the other tasks at hand.
Relax,focus, and take it slow.
At least, try not to expend too much energy on activities that are currently not priorities. This is in order for your energy to be not easily expended on the tasks that are not that important, at least for now.
Delegate, delegate, delegate.
You need not do it all at once, and you need not do all of your tasks on your own. Ask for help, get help, or pay for help. If there is a nagging feeling of being overwhelmed cropping up, hire someone to weedwack the yard or get a sitter for your children. The feeling of being obligated to complete something on time will somehow be eliminated if tasks are delegated. It can take a load off unnecessary worry and anxiety. Moreover, it is easier checking up on how things are, than worrying yourself sick doing everything on your own, all at once.
make sure to give yourself a well deserved reward.
You deserve it. Acknowledging your accomplishments, no matter how big or small, is an effort that is necessary before getting on to the next tasks and activities. It will greatly reduce stress and could even make you happier in doing the next task.
Give yourself a breather.
You require it to be more focused. It is necessary to give yourself a ten to fifteen minute break during your work. Go visit a café nearby, take a brisk walk, or do something to get your mind off work, this will be very beneficial for you. To refresh and recharge this is a necessary step. Believe it or not, you can also stay in your work and relax with your eyes closed as you visualize a peaceful landscape or a relaxing scene. If you desire you can hum your favorite tune.Your mind and your muscles will love you for these stress free moments.
Relax and be cool. This can work wonders and can make you healthier, happier, and a lot more productive.
