Building A Trampoline
The use of trampolines can be either for health purpose or fun activities. Many homes these days have outdoor trampolines in their backyard for their kids to play on. Many parents also use trampoline for losing weight and fitness regimes. Trampolines have been made since 1900’s. It was normally used by circus performers. Then in 1936 trampoline became a modern sport after the gymnast George Nissen developed it.
In 1990’s a lot of people had doubts about the accidents caused by trampolines. The number of casualties generated by using trampolines was increasing. But for last few years the manufacturers of trampolines have attached trampoline accessories with every trampoline that goes in the market, this will help in reducing the accidents. Hence in recent year’s trampolines sales have increased as many households have trampolines in their back garden. These days people do not have fear over the accidents because it is now safe to use.
What materials are used to build a trampoline?
To build a trampoline you need four basic materials which are springs, tubing, safety pads and jumping mat. For the legs and the frames of the trampoline, material called tubing is used. Springs are used to gain the bounce. The springs are made to the specification of the trampoline but by a spring supplier not by trampoline manufacturers. Artificial fibres like polyethylene or nylon is used to make jumping mats. The fabrics used are WV-protected to help it from fading when used outdoors. Safety pads of the trampoline are made of foam. These safety pads covers the frame and the springs. Trampoline manufacturers outsource the work to build safety pads.
For safety reasons these days most trampolines have safety nets. These safety equipments normally come with the trampolines when you purchase one, not sure about the nets but you can always purchase it separately. Generally in the UK 12ft trampolines are quite famous as most households have 12ft trampolines than 12ft or 14ft or any other sizes.
