Proper form for a Squat

Start by standing with your knees and toes facing the same direction, and your feet approximately hip width apart. Pretend like you are sitting in a chair and lower your hips, leaning forward a bit as you push your hips back. Another great analogy is to pretend that you are using a public restroom and there are no seat covers! Ladies, you know what I mean – we have all done it! That is perfect squat form. Please remember, that while lowering your hips lower will increase the intensity of the , never drop your hips lower than your knees. Depending upon your level, you can add weights and hold them on your shoulders to increase the challenge. Start with several sets of 10-15 repetitions.

How to do a Lunge

Lunges are an outstanding lower body workout, and it does help to tone your gluts but primarily it will make your legs look outstanding. Start by stepping forward with either leg and bending your back knee while keeping your shoulders over your hips – the lower your go, the harder it is. Since there are so many great variations of a lunge, you may consider getting one or two workout videos that show you a few other ways to do this great leg and butt workout.

The good news is beginning a new workout plan is always the hardest part. Form is always more important than how hard you train.
