Ways To Learn How To Jump Higher
Jumping higher is essential in basketball, there is no way to avoid it. This could be one of the most important parts of the game, because you are required to jump a lot. You will need to be able to block shots or passes, and dunk or hook shots. Basically if you can’t jump good, then you might not be very valuable to your team.
So how exactly is it possible to jump higher? It’s quite easy really, the muscles that are required to jump just need to be worked out. Problem is, these are complex muscles and require proper dieting and unique exercises to increase them. You’ll find that if you work out the muscles for jumping, that you can make them quite big and strong. There are 3 muscles groups that you need to work out, the calves, the dorsi flexors and your legs in general.
The dorsi flexors can be exercised well by any exercise involving pressure on the balls of the feet. Walk around the house on the balls of your feet, or stand on a raised ground surface like bricks or stairs on the balls of your feet and then relax them on to the floor.
Calf muscles can be worked out to the max by doing calf raises or running on a vertical incline.
The muscles of the leg can be exercised well by a very popular sprinting exercise called suicide. Most coaches will run this exercise with their b-ball players so that they can make them jump higher. To do this workout, you need to start from the baseline of a track and run 15 feet. Then you have to squat and touch the ground with your fingers. Conclude by running back to the baseline. Slowly you’ll increase the distance by adding 15 feet each time till you reach 90.
Another thing that you will need is a program that you will teach you how to increase your vertical explosion. A good program that will teach you how to do this is Jump Manual for vertical basketball. You can take a minute and read the Jump manual review too if you want.
