A Married Couple Becomes Uneasy About Their Hazardous and Irresponsible Drinking and Speculates Whether They Display Any Alcoholism Signs
Jerry and Sarah have been married for seven years. They wanted to have some excitement and fun before they made up their minds to have a family and so they with forethought fashioned an extraordinarily dynamic social life.
The central problem, however, is that just about everything they do with their family and friends somehow involves drinking. For example, all of the family get-togethers, dinner engagements, parties with friends, sporting events, and happy hours they spend time at are related to drinking.
Jerry and Sarah Start to See Some Clear-Cut Alcohol Related Issues That are Associated With Their Excessive Drinking
If they were responsible or moderate drinkers, this wouldn’t be a major issue. Due to the fact they drink rather excessively, nonetheless, they are starting to become aware of some instantly recognizable alcohol-related problems in their lives.
For instance, just four weeks ago Jerry was placed in custody for a second DWI and has been ignoring responsibilities at work due to alcohol-related health issues. Not only this, but Jerry’s last two or three performance reviews at work have been less than adequate and he has begun to forget what he does or says when he drinks. As a final point, Jerry has been experiencing sleep-related problems and his family has begun to worry about his drinking problems.
Sarah, on the other hand, has been feeling disheartened with life in general and to manage these feelings, she has been drinking more habitually than any time in the past two years. What is more, Sarah has been getting quite a few headaches and suffering from terrible hangovers because of her drinking. Lastly, Sarah has been feeling significantly less active when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late virtually every Monday, and she has been getting some unsympathetic criticism from her relatives, family members, coworkers, and friends about her irresponsible drinking.
Watching the TV and Going Through the Channels and Finding An Attention-Grabbing Documentary About the Signs of Alcohol Dependency
One Friday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah accidently found an exciting program about the signs of alcoholism.
This TV documentary was a real source of discovery to Jerry and Sarah because numerous alcoholism signs that were emphasized looked like they were unwaveringly related to some of the alcohol-related drinking problems Sarah and Jerry had been experiencing.
An Honest Talk About Drinking Activities Exposes Alcohol Related Legal, Relationship, Employment, Financial, and Health Problems
After watching the TV documentary, Jerry and Sarah made up their minds to have a forthright discussion about their drinking situation. They both concurred that most, if not all, of their social activities included drinking, that they were drinking in an excessive manner, and that as a couple, they were beginning to note alcohol related employment, relationship, health, legal, and financial problems for the first time since they were married.
With thoughts of the TV program still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been manifesting could be a warning that they are dependent on alcohol or possibly becoming alcoholic. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s question and so he recommended that they schedule an appointment with one of the physicians at the local drug and alcohol treatment center to find out more about the severity of their drinking issues.
Facing Your Drinking Difficulties Just May Reduce Your Trepidation and Give You A Sense of Calm
Strangely enough, even though their drinking circumstances hadn’t yet changed, it was clear that Jerry and Sarah were at the very least attending to their drinking problems, they were willing to find out more about their drinking situation, and they were interested in finding out how they could appreciably lessen or do away with the alcohol-related problems that had started to escalate.
When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that evening, they decided that the next day, Jerry would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol rehab facility located downtown. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to defeat the alcohol-related difficulties that had developed in their lives, they in point of fact had the most peaceful night’s sleep they could think of in the last month.
Just before he fell asleep, Jerry turned to Sarah and mentioned how easy it is to reduce one’s fear and in point of fact experience some peace of mind by facing one’s problems straight on and coming to a decision to do something positive about them.
